What happens when old objects are given new life through light and imagination? During Allt ljus på Uppsala, Pumphuset invites children and adults to a creative workshop where reused materials are transformed into imaginative shadow art.
Experiment with shapes, light and shadows, and discover how everyday objects that have already served their purpose can become something entirely new. The artworks created during the workshop will then become part of an exhibition by Uppsala Vatten och Avfall, displayed alongside Anni Laukka’s light installation Cast Away in Stationsgallerian.
A hands-on creative experience that inspires curiosity, imagination and fresh perspectives on reuse.
When: 21–22 November 2026, 12:00–16:00 (also 7–8 November and 14–15 November)
Where: Pumphuset, Munkgatan 2, Uppsala
Organiser: Uppsala Vatten och Avfall
Uppsala Vatten och Avfall works every day with the resources and services that need to be managed for society to function, both now and over time.
For Uppsala Vatten och Avfall, waste is a resource. Something that has been used does not have to reach the end of its life – it can become something new. While the installation explores transformation through light, shadow and materials given a new form, Uppsala Vatten och Avfall applies the same idea in its everyday work: seeing possibilities in what already exists, making the most of resources and giving new value to things that might otherwise go to waste.
Circular thinking is about more than materials and objects. It is about using our resources wisely and keeping them in use for as long as possible. By reducing waste and increasing reuse, we can work together to conserve the Earth’s resources.
Together, we keep the cycle going.
