About the festival
All Light on Uppsala is an annual light festival that brightens up the city for three weeks in November. Through artistic light installations in public spaces, the festival sparks new perspectives, emotions, and conversations. It’s a creative collaboration between artists, the city, and the public – with a strong focus on sustainability, community, and change.
Since 2008, the festival has lit up Uppsala’s city centre. In its early years it was held every other year, but since 2018 it has returned annually – with the exception of 2020, when the pandemic put things on pause. The purpose has remained the same: to invite locals and visitors alike to see the city in a new light – during the darkest time of the year.
Together with local businesses and organisations, we invite you to experience Uppsala’s city centre from a new perspective – with family, friends, colleagues, neighbours, or on your own.
Organisers
All Light on Uppsala is organised by the City of Uppsala and Uppsala City, made possible by our light hosts and partners. Destination Uppsala manages the project and promotes the event.
