Map
This year’s Light Festival will illuminate the city centre from 7–23 November, between 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Each light installation stands on its own – there’s no need to follow the numbering on the map. Visit them all or choose your favourites!
The Uppsala Art & Culture App
Just like last year, the light installations are also featured in the “Uppsala konst & kultur” app, which shows where each artwork is located and tracks your position in real time. Download the app from Google Play or the App Store. Don’t forget to enable notifications to get alerts when you’re near a light installation – it makes it even easier to find your way!
Once you’ve started the guide in the app and granted access to your location and notifications, you’ll receive a notification when you’re close to a light installation. You’ll only receive one notification per installation. If you’ve already visited an installation’s page and viewed its image and description, you won’t get another alert for that one. To reset the guide, tap Clear before starting again.
The app also features several walking tours exploring Uppsala’s public artworks and historical sites.
Printed map
You can also borrow a printed map from the Allt ljus på Uppsala mailboxes that are placed out during the festival. You will also be able to pick up a map at the Contact Centre in the City Hall or at one of Uppsala’s InfoPoints.
When you’re done using your map, you can put it back in a mailbox or pass it on to someone else. The maps are replenished regularly. If the maps happen to be out of stock, you can instead use the digital map, download the Uppsala Art and Cultural Heritage app, or take a photo of one of the large maps located at Stora torget or along the pedestrian street — one at the intersection with Bregränd and another near the City Library. Our Allt ljus city hosts also know where all the light artworks are and can help guide you.
You can also print this year’s map on your own printer at home. Download this year’s map.
