Due to the snow storm, Globoscope is unfortunately switched off on Thursday Nov 21st. We hope that the light work will be up and running again on Nov 22nd. Thank you for your understanding!
A captivating artwork where a large number of illuminated spheres work together to create a unique experience of the location. By using advanced technology and mathematical principles, the space is digitalized and transformed, with each individual point merging with the unique character of the place. The artwork provides the viewer with an experience where light, sound, and movement create a surreal journey through the space, enhancing the feeling of being surrounded by technological and artistic elements.
Globoscope demonstrates how art and technology can be combined to create new perspectives on our surroundings and how, through innovation, we can use technological solutions to reflect on sustainability and spatiality. The installation highlights the relationship between aesthetics and functionality, encouraging you to think about how you shape and use your physical spaces in a responsible way. This intertwining of technology and art makes Globoscope a thought-provoking example of how the future could look in harmony with sustainable ideals.
Maxime Houot, the driving force behind Collectif Coin, has created sound works and visual art internationally since 2013. With a background in applied physics, he combines craftsmanship and concept in his works. Houot builds his installations from the ground up, where his fascination with time, digital realities, and human interaction with technology permeates his work. Despite the use of advanced technology, the physical interaction with materials and machines remains central to his creative process. Based in Grenoble, Collectif Coin often blends light, sound, and other art forms such as dance and music to create unique art experiences.
The light installation is presented by Uppsala Akademiförvaltning, which combines tradition with innovation. They strive to unite their historical legacy with long-term work, both now and in the future. Their participation in Allt ljus på Uppsala offers an experience that is not only aesthetic but also emphasizes the importance of creating a long-term sustainable environment through technology and art. It is also a way for them to acknowledge and celebrate their 400th anniversary.
We also want to thank the Uppsala Linnean Gardens, where the light work is located.
